| What is the Microsoft BizSpark Contest? |
The Microsoft BizSpark Contest is an application development competition jointly organized by Microsoft Greater China Region and “DEMO CHINA 2011” of Cyzone for software startups. Microsoft has always been concerned with promoting the growth of innovative companies in order to help the local software industry achieve its maximum potential. Through the Microsoft BizSpark program, more than 3,000 professional developers from more than 650 software startups in Greater China have received free access to more than 50 million dollars equivalent of Microsoft software development tools, operating systems, office software, server licenses and corresponding technical support in the past three years.
This cooperation between Microsoft Greater China and “DEMO CHINA 2011” of Cyzone in 2011 aims to connect the software startups with the investor community and help bring innovative ideas to market. Microsoft will also provide a grant fund up to one million Yuan as well as consulting services. It is really a rare opportunity for software startups not only because of the opportunity to be involved in BizSpark program, technical training and entrepreneurship, assistance from experts at Microsoft’s headquarters and grant fund, but also provides the chance to communicate with VCs face to face and connect with other great startups.

- Online application —submit the application form online, and the organizing committee will screen all applicants first
- Workshop — the selected teams will be organized to join the workshop before six sub-contests
- Sub-contest — 15 selected teams will take part in the two-day event, (the first day for training and the second for sub-contest), The top two to four teams from each sub-contest will be selected to the final round.
- Final Contest — A total of 20 teams will do the ultimate PK. The top five will receive grant fund and enter the Final of “DEMO CHINA 2011 ".
Note: The five sub-contests will be held in Jinan, Chengdu, Shenzhen (including Hong Kong participating enterprises), Beijing, Shanghai.
